Why Copyright on Plans can get you into trouble
So, here’s what many people do not understand about the building and design industry: copyright. A Building Designer, Interior Designer, or Architect owns the copyright on the plans they design for you. In fact, any design any creative does for you is covered by Australian Copyright Law. Thus, you cannot take a creatives’ work and give it to someone else to build or paint, without their permission.
Where people get into trouble is with Designers and Architects who also build. because, if anything goes wrong between you, even though you have paid for their time, you are at their mercy as to whether they give you the plans, or not. Hence, we work with a Building Designer for Brisbane Home Extensions, but offer you the services of our Free Building Protection Agent, to help you find the right builder, compare all their quotes and see you through the building process!
